Appeal After Street Robbery In Murston

Police investigators are appealing for witnesses after a man reported being robbed in Sittingbourne.

The incident happened between 9:00pm and 9:15pm on Christmas Eve (Tuesday 24th Decemebr 2024) as he was walking along Murston Road.

The victim, who is in his 20s, states he was assaulted by two men who approached him on electric bikes and demanded his wallet. He was then assaulted and the men stole his mobile phone before leaving the scene along Canterbury Road.

The suspects are described as being white and in their mid-20s. One had long thick black hair and a beard and was wearing a black or grey tracksuit. The other had short light hair and was wearing a balaclava and black tracksuit.

Officers have been completing enquiries into the incident including the examination of CCTV in the area. They are now urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact the appeal line. They would particularly like to speak to a taxi driver in a white vehicle who may have passed the incident. Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for relevant footage.
