Lorry Driver Admits Causing Death Of Teynham Cyclist

A Co-op lorry driver pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving on Thursday (16th February) at Maidstone Crown Court, following a fatal accident on the A2 London Road in Teynham last year.

73-year-old cyclist Barbara Phipps died in the accident near the Co-op store in Teynham on the 13th February 2016. 59-year old lorry driver, William Magee, originally denied charge of dangerous driving and was due to stand trial later this month but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of causing death by careless driving, which was accepted by the prosecution.

A 17-year-old, who assaulted two teenage boys and stole their mobile phones in the space of five minutes, has pleaded guilty to robbery.

At about 8.15am on Thursday 7th May, a 13-year-old boy was walking to school along St John's Avenue in Sittingbourne when he was approached by two older boys. They asked him the time and after taking out his iPhone 5 to help them out, the victim was held in a headlock and his mobile phone taken.

Former Bailiff Admits Shooting Dead Ex-Boss

A man has admitted murdering his former boss in a tackle shop near Sittingbourne.

54-year-old Simon Olsen, of no fixed abode, shot dead fisheries owner Steven Langley, 57, inside his own shop in Tonge on Friday 29th November 2013. He pleaded guilty to one charge of murder at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday (25th April).
