Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called earlier today (Monday 3rd August) to field of corn stubble and straw alight off of Bottom Pond Road, Wormshill, just outside Sittingbourne.
Three fire engines were sent to the scene and crews used hose reel jets, beaters and water from portable tanks (called flexi packs) to put the fire out.
There were no reported casualties and the cause is not yet known.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) are calling on residents at home to tune into their first ever online fire station open day on Thursday 28th May.
Aimed at families and all ages, the virtual event has been organised in place of a number of the their annual ‘Family Open Days', which were cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and will take place from 11am on the Kent Fire and Rescue Service Facebook page, starting with Sittingbourne fire station.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a field fire in Wormshill early today (Thursday 25th July).
The call was received at 4.10pm and four fire engines were sent to the scene.
Crews arrived to approximately four hectares of field alight and a large smoke plume coming from the area.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet, fog spikes and beaters to tackle the blaze.
The cause is not yet known.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to The Street in Upchurch shortly after 10.00pm last n ight (Monday 29th April), to reports of a fire in the Co-op supermarket.
Four fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and water from a hydrant to extinguish the fire on the ground floor.
People living in accommodation above the shop had to be evacuated the building.
There were no reported injuries and the cause is being investigated.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to the A2 Keycol Hill in Bobbing earlier this afternoon.
It was following reports of a collision involving one vehicle at approximately 13:15hrs.
Two fire engines attended and crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the car roof and free a man trapped inside.
He was handed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance paramedics, who were also attending the scene.

Kent Fire And Rescue Service (KFRS) Firefighters dealt with a fire at a house in Peregrine Drive, Sittingbourne earlier today (Tuesday 15th January).
Fire crews were called at around 10.20am and had to wear breathing apparatus using two hose reel jets, a main jet and water from a local street hydrant to put the fire out.
The fire broke out in the roof space and affected the first floor of the two-storey terraced property.
There were no reported casualties and the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

Firefighters helped to release a man who was trapped in a van following a crash involving a car and two vans on the coast-bound carriageway of the M2 earlier today.
The collision happened just before Junction 5 for the A249 and Sittingbourne at around 9:15am.
Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the man, who was then passed into the care of the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene of a barn fire on Lower Road in Teynham.
Crews are working with the farmer using a tractor to drag out five tonnes of hay in a bid to extinguish the fire.
The barn measures around 15metres x 5metres.
There are no reported injuries.

The A2500 Lower Road, in Minster-On-Sea on the Isle Of Sheppey, will be CLOSED until 1.00pm this afternoon (Thursday 16th August) following a collision earlier on this morning.
The road is closed, in both directions, between the Cowstead Corner Roundabout and Thistle Hill Way following the head-on car crash between a silver Skoda Fabia and a red Toyota Hilux at around 4.00am.
