A cannabis cultivation has been uncovered by police officers at an industrial unit in Faversham.

Kent Police were called on Friday (5th February) to a report of suspicious activity at the unit in Newnham Lane, Faversham.

Officers from the local policing team attended and seized more than 100 cannabis plants in varying stages of maturity.

Two men aged 22 and from the Sittingbourne area have been arrested in connection with the investigation and have since been released under investigation.

More than 700 cannabis plants have been seized from a property in Sheerness.

Officers from the Swale Community Policing Team attended the house, in New Road, yesterday afternoon (Thursday 16th May) after receiving concerns the address was being used to grow the substance.

Inside officers uncovered a large cultivation spread across numerous rooms, along with evidence to suggest electricity was being illegally abstracted to help grow the plants.

A cannabis factory has been found after officers from Kent Police executed a drugs warrant in Sittingbourne.

The plants were seized at around 8.00am earlier today (Wednesday 25th April) on Wihtred Road in Bapchild. More than 150 mature plants were found and all in the final stages of drying ready to be sold.

Members of an organised crime group, which ran a large conspiracy to cultivate cannabis, have been convicted at the Old Bailey.

The group were identified as producing industrial amounts of cannabis, which was estimated to have had a yearly yield of over £25 million, at numerous locations across Kent and Norfolk between 2013 and 2015. It is believed that this is the biggest conspiracy to cultivate cannabis which has been uncovered in the UK.
