Kent Police are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in Iwade in the early hours.
At 1.44am this morning (Saturday 3rf February) the driver of a white BMW 116d travelling towards Sheerness on Sheppey Way, was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was confirmed deceased at the scene. The driver was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) were sent to the scene of a garage fire on Helen Thompson Close in Iwade, Sittingbourne in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 17th December).
Four fire engines were sent to the scene after the KFRS were called shortly after 4.20am and crews arrived to a fire spreading from a garage to the roof of an adjoining property.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used main jets, hose reel jets and water from a local hydrant to extinguish the blaze.
No casualties were reported, and the cause has not been confirmed.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to Sheppey Way in Iwade to reports of a bungalow fire at around 11pm last night (Thursday 1st September).
Four fire engines attended and crews tackled a fire in the roof space using hose reel jets and main jets.
KFRS’ volunteer response team also attended to provide support the occupants and residents in neighbouring properties affected by the incident.
There were no reported casualties and the cause is not yet known.

The Environment Agency has successfully prosecuted an Iwade man, who was fined £4,500 and ordered to pay £6,779 costs, a £190 victims’ surcharge and £11,086 in compensation to Iron Mountain (UK) PLC, at Sevenoaks Magistrates Court. The total came to £22,555, with the magistrate took into account his guilty plea during sentencing.

A motorist has been arrested within four minutes after a vehicle failed to stop for Kent Police patrols in Sittingbourne.
Officers from the Swale Local Policing Team were travelling on the Old Sheppey Way towards Iwade when they noticed a car that they believed to be uninsured, at around 1.50pm on Tuesday (3rd May).

Officers from the Environment Agency’s Environmental Crime Team, along with Kent Police officers, seized a vehicle from a farm near Iwade on Thursday (25th February).
The seized vehicle is an 8-wheeled tipper truck and is believed to be have been used to fly tip waste in the Rainham area.

Class A drugs and 120 cannabis plants were seized by Kent Police from an industrial site in Iwade earlier today (Wednesday 9th September).
Two hundred wraps of heroin or cocaine were found at the location, off Raspberry Hill, following a dawn search warrant carried out by several agencies.
Four shipping containers are also reported to have been found being used to grow cannabis and three men, aged between 18 and 59, were arrested as part of enquiries into the cultivation.

People living in Iwade are being advised to close windows and doors as a precaution, due to smoke coming from a fire in Raspberry Hill Lane earlier this morning.
Two fire engines responded to reports of a large out of control bonfire at around 2.15am and crews worked to make the area safe.
One fire engine remains on the scene to maintain a watching brief as it burns itself out under controlled conditions – as a result a smoke plume may been seen in the area.
There are no reported casualties and the fire is being treated as suspicious.
