CCTV Appeal After The Theft Of Power Tools

Kent Police investigators have issued a CCTV image after multiple power tools were reported stolen near Sittingbourne.

The incident happened at Axminster Tools on the Sheppey Way in Bobbing between 9.30am and 9.40am on Friday (5th April)

It is alleged a group of men entered the premises and left without paying for several cordless drills, sanders and other items worth more than £7,000. Officers have been investigating this incident are now able to issue an image of three men who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Witnesses and dashcam are sought after several attempted break-ins and the theft of a car in Swale.

Officers are investigating 10 incidents in which four men are alleged to have targeted houses and vehicles over seven days in September.

At around 2am on Friday 22nd September, an attempt was made to enter a home in Aspen Drive until the four suspects were disturbed by a neighbour.

Similar reports were received around an hour later in Nelson Avenue, where a group of people were seen trying to break into two properties.

Two men, suspected of stealing fuel from lorries, were arrested following quick work from a Kent Police dog and officers.

At around 3.45am on Monday (13th March) morning officers travelling on the A249 Maidstone-bound near Bobbing noticed a car parked close behind an HGV in a lay-by.

Two men then fled the scene as the patrol vehicle approached, with Police Dog Ciara and her handler called to assist in a search across fields.

Both suspects, one aged 30 and the other 21, were located shortly afterwards, arrested and later released on bail pending further enquiries.

A suspected burglar has been arrested after a victim of crime provided key information to police soon after a theft in Sittingbourne.

Kent Police were called at 12.30pm on Tuesday (11th January) following a report that the window of a vehicle had been smashed in Gadby Road and power tools stolen.

Following some detective work of his own, the owner suspected the stolen tools were being kept in the Wentworth Drive area and called the police.

Ink Cartridges Stolen From Faversham Supermarket

Kent Police have confirmed that theft charges have been authorised against a man who is alleged to have stolen ink cartridges worth around £1,500 from a supermarket in Faversham.

Albert Ramsden is accused of targeting the business, in Bysing Wood Road, on three occasions between Monday 16th and Wednesday 18th November.

On each occasion, a quantity of printer cartridges is said to have been taken.

The 19-year-old, of Crown Quay Lane in Sittingbourne, was arrested on suspicion of the offences by officers from the Kent Special Constabulary on Friday (20th November).

A Sittingbourne man has been charged with theft after he was arrested by officers following a foot chase.

Shane Baker, 30, of Bluebell Drive in, Sittingbourne, has been charged with two counts of theft after being arrested on Thursday (17th January).

The charges relate to incidents on Monday 7th and Wednesday 16th January at a shop in Sittingbourne where, on both occasions, three bottles of alcohol were reported stolen.

Seven Arrested After High Value Metal Theft

Seven men have been arrested in connection with a high value metal theft in Sittingbourne in the early hours of Sunday (14th January) morning.

Officers were alerted to a report of a burglary in the Castle Road area at around 5.24am. Two vehicles, a van and a car, were witnessed leaving the area and were later stopped on the M2 near Gillingham and four people were arrested.

A quantity of metal was found in the rear of the van by officers from Kent Police's Roads Policing Unit.

Kent Police are investigating a reported burglary in Sittingbourne over the weekend.

Between midnight and 7.30am on Sunday (30th October) it was alleged that two bicycles were stolen from a garden shed in Rock Road by forcing it's door lock.

A red and grey Bianchi Intenso road bike with a chrome bottom bracket and a Carrera bike were reported stolen.

The garden may have been entered using a rear alleyway that leads onto Burley Road.

Ex-Sittingbourne Man Jailed For High Value Theft

A man who attempted to steal millions of pounds from a Swanley cash depot and computer chips from a consignment at Heathrow Airport has been jailed for a total of 11 years and three months.

38 years-old Karl Delaney, formerly of Sittingbourne, was part of a group of offenders who targeted the Loomis Cash Depot in Mark Way, Swanley, on Friday 23rd March 2012.
