Motorist Arrested After Short Pursuit

A motorist has been arrested within four minutes after a vehicle failed to stop for Kent Police patrols in Sittingbourne.

Officers from the Swale Local Policing Team were travelling on the Old Sheppey Way towards Iwade when they noticed a car that they believed to be uninsured, at around 1.50pm on Tuesday (3rd May).

Teynham Fatal Collision Witness Appeal

Witnesses are being sought following a fatal collision near Faversham in the early hours of this morning (Monday 2nd May).

A black VW Polo car was travelling along Lower Road in Teynham, towards the village, when it was involved in a collision with a green Barracuda bicycle.

The collision took place at around 12.30am and the cyclist, aged in his late teens, sustained injuries and was confirmed deceased at the scene.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision on the A249.

At around 3.20pm Yesterday (Saturday 23rd April) afternoon, a collision involving a grey BMW, a blue Vauxhall and a Harley Davidson motorbike took place on the northbound carriageway of the A249 near Danaway.

Kent Police attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

CCTV Released Following Attempted Theft From Pensioner

Swale Police officers, investigating a report of an attempted theft from a pensioner in Sittingbourne, have released a CCTV image.

At around 10am on Tuesday 8th March an elderly man withdrew a quantity of cash from a High Street bank.

He walked to his car which was parked in St Michael’s Road and placed the money inside.

At this point it is alleged a man approached the victim and told him he had a flat tyre.

While the victim was distracted a woman is reported to have attempted to steal the money, but was foiled when the victim became suspicious.

Suspected Sittingbourne Burglar Charged

A suspected burglar has appeared in court charged with a break-in at a Sittingbourne house.

In the early hours of Sunday 13th March a victim, in Bassett Road, reported that they had disturbed a man who had targeted their property.

Officers attended the scene where the suspect had left prior to their arrival.

Enquiries were made into available CCTV footage in the area and yesterday (Tuesday 22nd March) a man was arrested.

John Brazil, of Castle Rough Lane, Kemsley was later charged with burglary.

Suspect Detained After Attempted Pharmacy Burglary

A suspected burglar has appeared at court following an attempted break-in at a pharmacy in Milton Regis.

At around 10.15pm on Monday (7th March), Kent Police received a report that a window had been damaged at the business on Milton Regis High Street. Officers went to the scene and then started a search of the area. At around 11.35pm, a patrol saw a suspicious vehicle and requested the driver to stop.

It is alleged the car did not stop and, following a pursuit, it came to a halt in Basser Hill, Lower Halstow, where the driver was arrested.

Man Charged Following Railway Station Assault

A suspect has been charged with multiple offences following an incident in which two people were assaulted at the railway station.

Kent Police officers arrested a man in Sittingbourne High Street on Tuesday (15th February) following a report that a person had spat at two people in the station between 7pm and 7.20pm.

As they attempted to arrest the man he is reported to have ran in the opposite direction from officers before he was apprehended. He was then alleged to have tried to headbutt one of the arresting officers.

Speeding Motorist Jailed For Causing Death Of Driver

A speeding motorist, who was using his mobile phone minutes before he caused the death of another driver, has been jailed.

Loui Curtis caused the fatal collision on the Londonbound carriageway of the M2, close to the junction 5 exit, on Monday 3rd August 2020.

The 27-year-old of Hawbeck Road, Gillingham, was driving his black BMW 320D when it collided with the rear of a blue Toyota Yaris at 12.50am. The victim, a 34-year-old man from Rochester, died at the scene.
