Police Find Body In Rural Area

A body has been recovered by officers searching for a missing man from Sittingbourne.

Kent Police attended a rural area near Hartlip on Sunday (22nd December) where the body had been located.

Formal identification has not yet taken place, however, the family of a 65 year old man who was reported missing on Thursday 21st November have been informed.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

Kent Police are appealing for information after the body of a man was found by Sheppey Way in Iwade earlier today (Wednesday 14th February). Officers were called at 7.49am after a passer-by found the man lying by the roadside.

At this stage the cause of death is unknown.

Woman's Body Found In Sheerness Canal

Kent Police recovered a body from the Canal in Halfway Road, Sheerness earlier today.

Officers attended at 9.30am this morning, following a call from a member of the public.

Police Forensic and Marine Unit teams were called to the scene, with a white tent being erected on the canal bank to assist in the investgation.

Body Found On Railway Line

A body was found on the mainline near Sittingbourne railway station last night (Monday 12th August) at around 11.15 pm.

British Transport Police have told SFM News: "Officers attended the scene last night and located the body of a man with injuries consistent with having been hit by a train. Medics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended but the man, thought to be in his fifties and from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious."
